Sam Mavrick

Bio

Coach Mavrick has 23 years of coaching experience, 3 at the college level and 20 at the high school level. Coach Mavrick's stops include time at: Fork Union Military Academy (DC-10 yrs, DB-10 yrs, WR-2 yrs RB-2 yrs, Director of Athletic Compliance), University of Charleston,WV (DL, ST, Director of Strength/Conditioning), WV Wesleyan College (DL, ST, Asst. Director of Strength), Culver Military Academy (DC-9 yrs, DB-9 yrs, OL-2 yrs, QB-2 yrs, WR-2 yrs) and now Westfield HS (OL). Along his journey, he has been fortunate to coach more than two dozen NFL players including two first-round draft picks - Anthony Costanzo and Kareem Jackson. The greatest part of his coaching career has come in sharing the field with his two sons, Joseph, current OL for the c/o of 2028 and two IHSAA 6A State Runner-up finishes with his oldest son Job (c/o of 2026) who now plays at Ohio University. Coach Mavrick played collegiately at WV Tech and played 5 years in the Arena League. He and his wife Danielle also have two daughters and both teach in Westfield-Washington Schools.
